The University of Kentucky Department of Psychiatry will be graduating eight
residents this year at the Residents' Awards and Graduation Banquet on June
13, 2002, at UK's Spindletop Hall. There are five residents who will be
completing training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry: Dr. Tamela Gilbert,
Dr. Lynn Mousel
and Dr. JoSharon Haydon in regular Child & Adolescent
training, and Dr. Susan Slade and Dr. Circe Cooke in Triple Board. Dr.
Gilbert has taken a position as Medical Director at Samaritan Hospital in
Lexington. Dr. Haydon will be going into private practice in Lexington.
Returning to her home state of Nebraska, Dr. Lynn Mousel will join the
faculty at the Creighton-Nebraska's Department of Child Psychiatry. Dr.
Slade, who has been the Child Chief Resident this year, will be taking a
position with the Adanta Comprehensive Care Center in Somerset. Dr. Cooke
will actually finish her training in September and is still considering
several employment options.

From the General Psychiatry program, Dr. Timothy Allen, Chief Resident, will
be pursuing a Forensic Fellowship at Tulane. Dr. Brian Greenlee will be
moving to Dartmouth for a Neuropsychiatry Fellowship. The Department of
Psychiatry hopes that both these residents will consider returning to
Lexington following their fellowships. Earlier in the year, Dr. Gwynn
Fister
completed her training and has established a private practice in
Lexington in General Psychiatry with special interest in adults with mental
disabilities.

We are quite proud of these excellent residents who are completing training
and we feel confident that they will be contributing significantly in their
chosen area of expertise both here and in other parts of the country.
