UK Child & Adult Psychiatrists - Job Listing
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking residency-trained, board certified/board eligible Child and Adult Psychiatrists to join our team in Lexington, KY. We employ physicians, psychologists, therapists and other mental health professionals to provide a wide variety of behavioral health and substance use treatment services at multiple locations. Our clinicians provide care at our UK Psychiatric & Behavioral Health Care Clinic at Fountain Court, Albert B. Chandler Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital, Eastern State Hospital, and various other clinics and departments throughout the UK HealthCare system and other partner organizations throughout Kentucky. We strive to provide the highest level of patient care, innovative educational programs, active research in mental illness and advocacy throughout the state of Kentucky and beyond. These pursuits have helped the department win the American College of Psychiatrists’ Award for Creativity in Psychiatric Education not once, but twice.
Qualifications
- MD/DO degree
- Completion of residency in Psychiatry
- Knowledge of psychiatric practices in a variety of clinical, teaching, and research environments, as well as a demonstrated ability in teaching students at all levels in an academic environment.
- Board eligible/board certified in Child & Adolescent and/or Adult Psychiatry by the American Psychiatric Association
- Current licensure, or eligibility to obtain licensure, to practice medicine in the state of Kentucky.
- Strong clinical skills with a patient-centered approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
